Khaya, also known as African Mahogany, has different shades from light pinkish-brown to a deep reddish shade and is often seen in a purple cast. The qualities of Khaya are that they are moderately heavy and hard with medium bending and crushing strength, low stiffness and shock resistance, they have moderate decay resistance, and good stability.
